"Gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide"
*snort* Well put.
Drawing characters based off details from books is pretty hard, ah think you did a LOVELY job.
:iconyaoi-stuffs:
Oh, thank god you did this. I was actually on the verge of ASKING for one because I wanted to see your interpretation of 'zira. He's a lot younger looking than I would have expected, but it's kind of hard to draw mid-thirties anime guys, huh? I also picture him in glasses quite a bit. I don't know why... it just seems to suit him.

As for name pronunciation: The authors originally planned for his name to be a combination of... uh... what was it? Some stupid name and Raphael. So they always thought to pronounce it "Aziraphael." But most people just say Azirafale. Obviously, I know just a bit too much about this book, huh? ^^;

...I actually like your pronunciation better. I think I'll adopt it.

To become old and wise, one must first be young and stupid.

"Maybe he gots to go outside and goes to the... B-A-S-T-H-R-O-H-M-N-S-E."

Thanks! Man, if you think he looks young in this pic, you should have seen my earlier concept drawings of him. Ugh. Saucer eyes and revolting chibi-ness. :XD: He still looks a little young to me, too. I'm sure there's a way I could slap on a few more years to him...

Heh. You know, Aziraphale's name reminds me of "Azrael" and "Raphael", the former being some high-ranking official from Hell and the latter being, well, you know. Archangel and stuff. Wow. I never realised I was pronouncing Aziraphale's name more closely to the demon's. All you need to do is insert an F in there...

I spent all night looking for the passage where Aziraphale's name was hinted at being pronounced "Azerafel" (by Nostradamus). I didn't find it until, well... much later. I'd totally forgotten about that.

I never read the book (I'd like to now :heart: ) but from all your gorgeous drawings, now I MUST go to Borders or Barnes and Noble!.......BTW, he's really cute! And very well drawn!

Gay and Brittish? You don't say so... hmm... The first way to pronounce his name that I thought of was something like "Ahzz-ee-rap-hael" That's quite a mouth-full. XD Don't know if I'd go around saying that all day.

This is quite a good depiction of a brittish angel character. Looks to be about 23, modestly dressed, very soft and delecate. Couldn't see him doing much other than reading, really. :) Perfect!

He looks like Sai with a bang part. Very cool though. I also like the demon...Crawly I think. I shall have to look this book up. Sounds extremely interesting. But if you are looking for a good book (shamelessly peddles fave books ) the Noble Dead series by Barb and JC Hendee are awesome. The first one is called Dhampir. I would love to see your interpretation of Leesil. Anyways. Nifty art as usual!

I think I associated Aziraphale with Cye from the get-go, just with blond hair. That might also explain my fawning adoration for him. ^^;

Azrael! That's it!! It completely slipped my mind this morning (Just gotten off work and I was tired hehe). I guess the whole Azrael thing hints at Aziraphale's tendency to be a not-so-holy angel. =)

lol. Indeed it might. I found some quote from the book earlier today and especially like the one about trees going "vrooooom." ^_^
